The NRA And Fox: Trying To Bridge The Cowardly Bullies Logic Gap

Fox hosts–and other such far right wing pundits–prey upon the minds of the stupid and gullible. The students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School survived a shooting where they either witnessed friends and teachers being shot to death–and in one case pulled the body of a dead student on top of them to hide from the shooter–or heard the loud, percussive shots through doors and windows, living in fear of the shooter finding them in their hiding place and killing them.

The survivors who decided they’ve had enough, that they would step out into the glaring media spotlight and start a campaign to demand national gun laws that would finally begin to end this madness have struck terror into the heart of the NRA. And when the NRA is struck with terror, it strikes back.

Through it’s little servant surrogates like Ted Nugent, Frank Stallone, Laura Ingraham, etc. are given their marching orders to attempt to have their lemming-like devoted core of minions bridge the following Logic Gap: turn the brave survivors of a devastatingly lethal shooting spree into…cowardly bullies. Does this make sense to you? If you have a modicum of intelligence and a discerning thinker, no. If you are a Fox fan…well, that brings us back to the stupid and gullible. Anyone who believes that David Hogg and Emma Gonzalez are cowards and bullies also believes that Vladmir Putin is an honest but misunderstood benevolent ruler of Russia, a huge friend of Donnie’s–I mean, the United States of America, and should be welcome in Donnie’s White House to receive congrats on well-deserved honest presidential victory.

Speaking of Ted Nugent, it is said he intentionally pooped in his pants to avoid the Vietnam draft. According to Snopes the story is unproven, but then the only people who could have broken this story would either have been Nugent bragging to his buddies who then spread the story, the draft doctors who examined him, or the military personnel who typed up his 4-F draft classification. Some say that Nugent allegedly pooping in his pants, whether intentionally or unintentionally, to avoid being drafted was a supreme act of cowardice in itself, especially since no one was shooting at him yet. So, some ask, who is Nugent to call anyone a coward? It takes one to know one? In this case some say the only cowardly act in question was allegedly perpetrated by Nugent.

The NRA is trying to sell a bill of goods to the lowest common denominator of people who will buy anything. They’ll buy that only Fox is to be trusted to report real news because Donnie tells them so. They’ll buy that Donnie’s bloodstained hands aren’t all over the dead body of DACA. And they’ll buy that Donnie didn’t allegedly assault/harass and just sexually misconduct all over the place with at least 50 women, despite being married through most if not all of it.

I wish the morons who accept anything Fox says as gospel (isn’t one of their slogans “God talks to you through us”? If not, just give it time) would step back JUST a bit and actually look at that Logic Gap with a clear, discerning mind: “OK, over here you got teenagters deathly afraid for their lives and most grieving while still going through PTSD and positively directing their anger at assault rifles and high-capacity magazines…and over their these same teenagers being coward and bullies to Fox employees pulling in tens of millions of dollars a year, causing them to live in fear of these high school student cowardly bullies. Nope, still doesn’t make any sense. But then it’s never made sense to get news from Fox. But then that brings us full circle again back to stupid and gullible who watch Fox regurgitate talking points written and handed down by the NRA. Break the NRA, break Fox, break the little surrogate servants, you break the circle. Then maybe we can start to fix this country.

The Annual “War On Christmas” Christmas Special—Brought To You By Fox

Well, sir, another Christmas come and gone and Fox’s Annual” War On Christmas” Christmas Special has been met with its annual defeat, ensuring it will be back next year for Fox’s Annual” War On Christmas” Christmas Special. You see, the only people waging war against Christmas are the ones on Fox ranting about a war on Christmas. They are, in fact, waging war against the way most of us celebrate Christmas, which is not the way THEY want us to celebrate it.  In the Fox world, nobody wants to see a nativity scene with the little baby Jesus anywhere outside of church or private property, which is true.  But that still leaves a ton of places to see the costumed doll replicas of the little baby Jesus but Fox apparently has never bothered to find out where any of them are, otherwise it wouldn’t be a “war”, would it?

Yes, it may be company or school district policy for employees to wish “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” but off-work these same employees can wish whatever they want to whoever they want.  So what it comes down to is that Fox and the Far Right are the only ones waging a War on Christmas and you know what?  Fox always starts the war at Christmas not just because it IS Christmas time, but because TV viewership is down across the board as people are out or online shopping for gifts or groceries for holiday meals, making holiday gifts, and just doing what many people do during the holidays.  This is why all the major TV shows have what is now called their mid-season finales (that would be a whole other column) BEFORE Thanksgiving and stay in reruns into after the first of the year or until Spring. Fox still has hungry, high-paid celebrity mouths to feed during the holiday season so they have to draw in the viewers to watch their TV commercials and so we get the annual War on Christmas, brought to by these fine sponsors who I would personally boycott if I knew who they were but I never watch Fox so I don’t.  A state of bliss can be achieved through ignorance.

My point is, I guarantee that despite the phony but ratings-based Fox War on Christmas everyone who wanted to celebrate Christmas in their own way—did.  Crèches were in abundance,  “Merry Christmas” was uttered on 100s of millions of lips, and no one was arrested by the Secret Police for violating the United States secular holiday celebratory protocols. In fact, President and Michelle Obama in their Christmas Day radio address wished all Americans both “Happy Holidays” and “Merry Christmas”, thereby covering all religious—and non–bases.

Seems to me that if Fox wants to pick the attackers in the War on Christmas, why don’t they take on all the retail stores and restaurants who force their employees to work on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? Nothing says War on Christmas like depriving your employees of actually celebrating the holiday with their family and friends.  The War on Christmas is being pursued by so many of these companies because, to them, the War on Thanksgiving was an unqualified success.  But the problem here is, too many of the employers waging a War on Christmas also advertise on Fox and so, well, it can’t really be considered a war even though those companies make their employees wish customers “Happy Holidays” and there’s not a little baby Jesus in sight, because the business of war is business and Fox never met a corporate business which exploits its employees that it didn’t like—a lot. To Fox, if they perceive the Left doing it, it’s a war. If corporations do it, it’s business.

Of course, if Fox wanted to report on a real war, there are several to choose from: the war on women, the war on voting rights, the war on minorities, the war on gays, the war on the poor, the war on workers, the war on public schools, wars all and all being waged by the…GOP, who are among the fine but unnamed sponsors of Fox.  So, you’ll never hear of any of those wars on Fox, actual wars in which lives have been lost by women denied legal abortions, by people denied health care, by people denied federal cash, food, and medical assistance, by people being denied protection under the law and harassed or even murdered by racists and bigots; lives being destroyed by denying people their Constitutional right to vote and have a say in how their government affects them, by denying workers a living wage and shipping their careers overseas and replacing them with minimum wage jobs with no benefits, and by denying decent education to children so that US test scores for school children rank among the lowest in the world, and by allowing corporations to rob people of their investments and life savings while failing to punish a single CEO or high-ranking executive who allowed it all to happen and made billions off of other people’s financial losses.

But all those wars make Fox viewers uneasy because they don’t or can’t understand what’s going on and how they’re personally being victimized.  But they can all understand a Gretchen Carlson claiming she and her little children can’t see the little baby Jesus from her car in the Florida state capitol rotunda  because of a Festivus pole made from beer cans standing in its way, despite the facts that Carlson couldn’t see that little baby Jesus from her car since it was an indoors display, and because Carlson lives in Connecticut and works in New York.

So, the Fox War On Christmas (hope Fox didn’t trademark that phrase) is actually a War On Logic. If there were actually an annual war on Christmas, the drones would be filling the skies as they set off for their target Crèches and Christmas tree lots, and uniformed soldiers would be breaking into houses with Merry Christmas written on windows or in lights and employees would be handcuffed and frog marched off to secret prisons where they water board “Merry Christmas” wishers and force them to watch “Life Of Brian” 24/7 with their eyes kept perpetually open with clamps and steel hooks…things.

But Fox and the Far Right know that there’s no war on Christmas so they fill their viewers with fear and in effect imprison them in their own homes watching Fox 24/7 causing some of them to, perhaps, miss Christmas.  Wonder if Gretchen Carlson would ever drive her kids around to see THAT?

The Stupid Vote

You don’t have to be stupid to be a Republican but they sure prefer it that way.   Since Fox News has been scientifically proven to make smart people stupid and stupid people stupider, it’s the Republican version of the old Soviet TASS agency, which served up fresh propaganda daily throughout the USSR.

Who else but a stupid person would believe Mitt Romney’s claims that when he ran Bain Capital he was a job creator? Romney was just the money mover there; he hired guys to buy and dismantle companies for him, bankrupting 20% of them and shipping hundreds of thousands of jobs overseas.  Only a stupid person would believe his claim that what he did at Bain was the same thing as President Obama bailing out the auto industry, except Romney publicly opposed the bailout in an op-ed piece he wrote just before the bailout.  He wanted to see the auto industry go bankrupt (he’s got a thing for other people’s bankruptcies), just like he wanted to see all the homeowners defaulting on their mortgages lose their homes.

Only a stupid person would believe Romney’s contention that since 2009, Obama’s economic policies have cost millions of American jobs instead of actually creating 3 million—more than reversing the Bush trend of losing 700,000 jobs per month.

Only a stupid person would believe that Romney’s billionaire national financial co-chair, Frank VanderSloot, is a small businessman in Idaho whose small business was hurt when the Obama campaign outed him as a major donor to the Romney campaign.  The stupid person would also buy VanderSloot has nothing against gays although he personally has donated to anti-gay campaigns in Idaho.  (Charges against VanderSloot are difficult to prove since he sics his very expensive attorneys on just about anyone who publishes negative comments about him.  Not very small businessman-like to have a very expensive attorney on retainer.)

A stupid person would readily believe that Obama is endangering our country by cutting back on military spending when, without getting us into two unfunded wars, he eliminated the major terrorist of our time and a few of his underlings, and helped free Libyans from the tyranny of the Khadafi regime without getting one U.S. troop killed or captured.

It takes a stupid person to believe all these lies because a smart person would know how to find out the truth debunking all these lies in the global knowledge base that exists outside Fox News and the Republican TASS surrogates who practice Petulance In Broadcasting or run The Craze website.  Stupid people watch Bill O’Reilly talk like a newsman so they assume he is one.  They watch Republican blacks and women putting down non-Republican blacks and women and assume Republican blacks and women are telling the truth because you don’t hate your own kind, right?

So, this explains why the Republicans are attacking and dismantling educational systems across the country because they count on the stupid vote keeping them in office and winning back the White House and Congress.

So, for all the young people who think voting is stupid; it is only if you vote Republican.
