Donald Trump: All About Taking All The Credit And None Of The Blame

Oh, so what Sean Spicer is claiming in the linked news article is that Donald Trump’s reality show bookers, I mean, his White House staff, didn’t thoroughly vet Michael Flynn before his appointment as Trump’s his National Security Advisor because they relied on the honesty and integrity of the Obama admin’s previous vetting of the man. Yes, Obama appointed him to run the Defense Intelligence Agency (which was typical of Obama except that Flynn was too much of a warmongerer even for Obama) but somehow it slipped Flynn’s mind to inform the DIA that he was accepting payments from Turkey, at the same time–a very slight conflict of interest of national security importance.  Of course the fact that Obama fired Flynn’s ass in 2014 is swept away in a dust cloud of ignorance, it being completely and officially ignored. Who reauthorized Flynn’s security clearance in 2016? Perhaps no one in the Obama was aware of Flynn in effect acting as a double agent for Turkey and the Russians while he was also then working for the Trump campaign. But I would bet all the money I wished I had that Trump was in some manner aware of it. Flynn and he knew the same Russians and perhaps the same Turks if Trump was and is doing business in both Russia and Turkey. You bet your ass he allegedly had to know.

But all that is “be that as it may”; if you’re the president-elect and you take your new job seriously, you’re fully aware that picking your candidate for your national security advisor, is a matter of vital national security importance that you pick the right person, and that means not relying on a previous administration’s vetting process but running it with your own staff.
“Why would you rerun a background check on someone who was the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency that had and did maintain a high-level security clearance?” [Spicer rhetorically asked at a press briefing earlier today]. Because Trump has always been all about taking all of the credit and none of the blame.

But again to emphasize how little importance Trump places on national security, remember that he pulled his military officers off the National Security Council and replaced them with that most internationally-esteemed national security expert…Steve Bannon, late of that national security and strategic military affairs website…Breitbart “news”.

    Ha!

I’m still dumbfounded that he is our president. The words “Pres. Trump” seem like an oxymoron. (Emphasis on moron — couldn’t resist.)

Unlike many liberals I can understand why many people would get desperate enough to vote for him. In fact, several of my friends and family did just that.

Now I ask them why they defend him when he makes policy that helps the elite instead of them. Why not push him for tax justice, for instance?

Some of them seem less enamored than in the past. Some say they will give him a year (thankfully, not forever). Others are still hopeful that he is just positioning himself for a better outcome for them eventually. So maybe they are in touch with reality on some level.

    We’ll see…
